Here’s your chance to become Royalty! Nominations are open! Every active member of the Krewe has the opportunity to be part of a Royal Court and participate in all the Krewe activities. Please read the info below. Submissions are due by October 19th.

The Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse Krewe Royal Court is designed for 3 sets (King Candidate + Queen Candidate per set) of Dukes and Duchesses. Each candidate selects a cupcake by a random coin draw at The King and Queen Brunch. Whomever finds the “Baby” is the new King or Queen! Couple candidates may be married, family, or just friends and automatically select their running mate, while a single candidate will select from singles that signed up. Royal court attire for all events (the Brunch, Christmas Dance, & Ball) is very dressy to formal wear.

Royal Court Candidates Submission and Qualifications:

  • Candidates are nominated by Krewe member submission by email Bplkrewe25@gmail.com each year.

  • Nominees and nominators must be in good standing for the past full year with current and next year membership dues paid.

  • Candidates must not have been King or Queen for the past 5 years, have full board approval and be 21 years of age or older.

  • Nominees must have attended or helped with several Krewe events as listed below.

King and Queen Obligations and Expectations

During their reigning year, The King and Queen must commit to attend or make appearances at Krewe events, always representing the Krewe with pride and dignity to the best of their ability.

Application Process: Must be completed 2 weeks prior to the King and Queen Brunch

Applications must be completed and reviewed by the Royal Court Coordination Team Bplkrewe25@gmail.com, and then submit recommendations to the BPLK Board. In the event that Reigning King and Queen cannot meet their expectations and obligations, the Royal Court Coordination Team will submit replacements.
